Ed Buckley is a journalist and opinion writer with The Post and Courier. A Charleston native, he spent most of the past decade living and working in Los Angeles, California, Mendoza, Argentina and Bogota, Colombia, all cities with wildly different urban cultures and approaches to city life. Those experiences, along with watching Charleston grow and change, pushed him to become an advocate for livability and sustainable city planning.
Ed lives in West Ashley, so improving life in the suburbs is both a personal and professional mission. In his spare time, he’s an amateur oil painter a dabbler in home-cooked Mexican, Colombian and various Asian cuisines, a supporter of Charleston’s craft beer boom and an enthusiast of pretty much any activity that involves being in the sun and on the water.
