Tammy Eagle Bull is the President of Encompass Architects located in Lincoln, Nebraska. She offers a unique approach to design, as she believes strongly in the direct relationship between human behavior and the environment. She strives to create environments in which the users will not only function but also thrive.
This mentality is evident in her work, as 80 percent of her firm's work is for tribal nations. They work in a niche market, designing schools, government offices, and detention centers for tribes in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Arizona. This work lies close to her heart as Tammy is a member of the Oglala Lakota Nation and grew up in South Dakota. She was the first Native American woman in the United States to become a licensed architect.
